March 9 — Billy Frank Junior’s Birthday
March 19 — State Parks’ 108th Birthday
April 22  â€” Earth Day
June 10 — National Get Outdoors Day
June 11 — Free Fishing Day
June 19 — Juneteenth
Sept. 23 — National Public Lands Day
Oct. 10 — World Mental Health Day
Nov. 11 — Veterans Day
Nov. 25 — Autumn Day

There are five State Parks in Kitsap County. They are all included in the 2023 Parks & Trails Challenge!

Junior Ranger Program

DO YOU LIKE EXPLORING PARKS? BECOME A WASHINGTON STATE PARKS JUNIOR RANGER!

The Junior Ranger booklet and badge program is a fun way for youth and families to explore Washington’s state parks. Designed for youth 4 and up, this self-guided program encourages families to discover the natural and cultural wonders of Washington through fun exploration, games, and creative activities.

To become a Junior Ranger, families may ask for the free Junior Ranger Booklet at one of our participating state parks. Only two parks in Kitsap participate in the Junior Ranger Booklet and Badge program: Kitsap Memorial & Manchester – but there are many more outside of Kitsap County. See the whole list here.

Washington State Parks require a Discover Pass for entrance.
